YIT, a Finnish construction company, has agreed with Nordic data center services provider atNorth, to build a new data center facility in Myllykoski, Kouvola, Finland. The FIN04A1 facility will be part of atNorth’s existing FIN04 data center campus.
Readers will recall YIT and atNorth partnered in July to design and build the FIN04 data center which is valued at €300 million (US$ 343 million) with a total eventual capacity of 430 MW and its completion is expected by the end of 2027. Although the value of the agreement has not been disclosed, YIT said in a press release, that it will act as the main contractor for the project and will oversee the construction of the facility, including mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) works.

According to a report by Mordor intelligence, Finland’s data center market is projected to expand significantly, with production capacity increasing from 0.74 thousand MW in 2025 to 2.97 thousand MW by 2030, representing a 32.19 percent CAGR over the 2025–2030 forecast period.
Finland is one of the fastest-growing digital infrastructure hubs in the Nordic region with both data center capacity expansion and sustainability performance. The growth of AI training and inference workloads is further accelerating large-scale developments, as higher rack densities are well suited to Finland’s natural free-air cooling conditions.
Finland has a natural cold climate, multiple renewable energy sources, and favorable fiscal incentives that reduce operating costs, making the country an attractive, low-risk, and carbon-efficient location for hyperscale data center investments.
