Heim Datacenter (Heim), a Nordic digital infrastructure platform, has entered an investment partnership with Omnes Capital, an European private equity and infrastructure investment firm, to develop data center projects in Europe, starting in Finland. The investment, made through Omnes Capital’s CEP2 fund, will support Heim’s organisational development and project pipeline. The exact amount of the investment has not yet been revealed by either company.

According to a press release, Heim plans to design, build, own and operate large-scale data centers for hyperscale cloud and AI customers initially focusing on the Nordic region, with plans to expand into other European markets to deliver 2.5 GW of data center capacity across Europe.

“From the beginning, we wanted Heim to be a company we could be proud of, both for what we build and how we treat people, choosing our investment partner had to reflect that,” said Svein Atle Hagaseth, co-founder and CEO, Heim Datacenter. “In Omnes, we found people who share our values and our direction. They felt like part of the Heim family from our first conversations. That gives us a strong foundation as we build for the next decade and stay true to the reasons we started Heim.”

“Heim brings together an exceptional leadership team with a proven ability to develop, build and operate data center infrastructure at scale,” said Caroline Yametti, partner, Digital Infrastructure, Omnes Capital. “Their experience, deep understanding of the Nordic market and long-term approach to building the business make them an ideal partner for Omnes. Together, we aim to develop a leading European platform that responds to growing demand for energy-efficient digital infrastructure meeting the highest operational and technical standards in the industry.”

Heim’s facilities are being designed to meet the power and cooling requirements of AI workloads. Its development plans also include assessing heat reuse opportunities and working with local communities. Omnes Capital’s investment will also support the development of Heim’s team and organisation as it advances its projects.
