Nebius, an AI infrastructure provider, has agreed to lease 50 MW of IT capacity from AIB Data Centers Ltd (AIB), a digital infrastructure developer and operator, under a 12 year contract, adding infrastructure in the southeastern United States for its AI cloud operations. The agreement addresses a key infrastructure challenge for Nebius as demand for AI computing capacity grows.
According to a press release, the capacity is part of a planned two hall development at an AIB site with access to 65 MW of utility power under a 15 year electricity supply agreement. The existing power arrangement means the project can proceed without major additional electrical infrastructure upgrades. AIB plans to finance much of the development through advance payments from Nebius, project-level borrowing and preferred equity.
Andrey Korolenko, Chief Product and Infrastructure Officer, Nebius, said, “Time-to-power is the binding constraint on AI infrastructure today, and AIB’s existing power position gave us a clear path to bringing this capacity online on a timeline that works for our customers, this agreement adds dedicated capacity in the southeastern United States for training and inference workloads.”
Jerry Tang, Chief Executive Officer, AIB Data Centers, said, “Signing Nebius represents a transformational milestone for AIB, our strategy is straightforward: secure power in attractive markets and convert that power into long-term contracted revenue with leading AI infrastructure companies. This agreement validates that strategy.”
For AIB, the contract comes after an acquisition in Texas that brought its total contracted power capacity to approximately 120 MW. The company is seeking further long-term agreements with AI and high-performance computing operators expects this approach to limit the need for additional corporate equity and reduce potential dilution for shareholders.
