American multinational technology conglomerate Meta has launched a financing plan worth around US$ 97.5 billion to pursue significant opportunities being created by artificial intelligence, investing in the infrastructure and compute capacity needed to support that chase. The plan includes an equity offering that has already attracted interest from cornerstone investors NVIDIA Corporation, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD), and Broadcom Inc.
The sum includes around US$ 37.5 billion in underwritten public offerings made up of approximately US$ 25 billion in Class A common stock and about US$ 12.5 billion in depositary shares representing Preferred Stock. Meta also stated in a press release that it intends to launch an at-the-market (ATM) program worth around US$ 60 billion when trading on its Class C common stock begins. However, Meta said that “there can be no assurance” that the ATM program will be established.
NVIDIA AMD, and Broadcom could, according to Meta, collectively purchase up to US$ 5 billion of Class A common stock.
NVIDIA said this week that it would invest US$ 3 billion in Meta’s equity offering, alongside announcing an expanded partnership with Meta and the Muse family of models.
“AI agents represent a new computing paradigm — software that understands our goals, reasons, uses tools and gets work done on our behalf,” Jensen Huang, NVIDIA founder and Chief Executive Officer, said in a statement. “This changes how we use computers, from operating applications to working with intelligent agents. NVIDIA and Meta are expanding our partnership to optimize the computing infrastructure end to end for capable, efficient and secure AI agents, so Muse can empower billions of people to achieve more and pursue greater ambitions.”
According to NVIDA, Meta will expand its deployment of Vera Rubin and Vera CPU solutions and will also consider other collaborations related to monitoring, structured, unstructured and graph data processing.
Meta is also leaning on AMD technologies for Muse. The chipmaker said this week in a press release that its Helios and EPYC products were powering the agentic platform. AMD has committed US$ 1 billion to Meta’s equity offering.
“We’re making big investments in the computing power that will enable us to bring personal superintelligence to everyone, and AMD plays an important role in that,” said Mark Zuckerberg, Meta founder and Chief Executive Officer.
Meta expects its capital expenditure to be in the range of US$ 135 billion to US$ 145 billion in 2026. In its third quarter, Meta reported revenue of US$ 64.6 billion and net income of US$ 9.9 billion.
In that same period, the company expects to nearly double its total infrastructure capacity on a year-on-year basis. Meta is building as many as four data center superclusters with over 1 GW of capacity each. In July, w.media reported that the company would invest more than US$ 50 billion to expand its data center in Richland Parish, Louisiana to have 5 GW of capacity.
