Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority’s (SDAIA) delegates from various sectors visited South Korea and met with several officials from the public and private sectors to exchange knowledge and expertise in data and AI fields.
The SDAIA delegation held bilateral meetings with the Korean side representing the Ministry of Science and Information and Communications Technology; the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport; the National Information Society Agency; the Personal Data Protection Authority; the Korea Data Agency; the Seoul Urban Government (Smart Seoul); and the Institute for Information Communication Technology, Planning and Evaluation.
The delegation also held other meetings with the Korean Information Society Development Institute and the Korean Data Centre Council. During the meetings, the two sides addressed ways to improve coordination, exchange knowledge, and establish partnerships in data, artificial intelligence (AI), and smart city technologies as well as the global advancement of these fields.
The visit is a part of the authority’s efforts to strengthen its collaborations with multiple international institutions in order to realize its vision of creating a national data-based economy, achieve the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030, and elevate the Kingdom’s standing as one of the world leaders in the fields of data-based economies and AI.
In February 2023, SDAIA have also partnered with Rackspace Technology, a cloud computing company, as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia modernizes its technological foundation in an effort to diversify its economy beyond the oil industry.
Rackspace Technology said it had signed a memorandum of understanding with the governmental SDAIA to work together on strategic technology initiatives as part of the Saudi Arabian government’s Vision 2030 economic plan.
