ePLDT has partnered with broadband provider Radius Telecoms Inc. to enhance connectivity in its upcoming 11th and largest data center. The data center, called VITRO Sta. Rosa, is scheduled to be operational in 2024.
ePLDT announced that Radius Telecoms will provide internet services to improve the quality and speed of connectivity in VITRO Sta. Rosa. The project is expected to be completed by the first half of 2024, positioning it as PLDT’s largest data center.
As part of the partnership, Radius Telecoms will establish a point of presence in VITRO Sta. Rosa to offer connectivity solutions to enterprises and hyperscalers that opt to store their data in the facility.
Additionally, Radius Telecoms will collaborate with ePLDT to expand the fiber connection of the data centers, including building a fiber facility to link VITRO Sta. Rosa with other data centers in Metro Manila.
Upon activation in 2024, VITRO Sta. Rosa will initially have a capacity of 14 megawatts, with the potential to expand to 50 MW during full operations. Currently, ePLDT maintains a total capacity of 34 MW across its portfolio of 10 data centers in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
By the end of 2024, PLDT’s technology arm aims to reach a total capacity of 62 MW with the completion of VITRO Sta. Rosa, as well as the expansion of other VITRO data centers including VITRO Makati 2 and VITRO Parañaque.
ePLDT affirms that its continuous expansion of data centers is sustaining its growth by attracting new businesses. Additionally, it is also increasing its capacity to address the requirements of customers as digitalization in the country further picks up.
In line with their expansion plans, the company also revealed recently the plans to construct its 12th data center in an effort to expand its operations in the Asia Pacific region.
