Edge Centres Acquires Queensland Cloud, Dedicated Server And Colo Company Host Networks

May 17, 2023; Brisbane, Australia: The acquisition of Host Networks adds an existing 20-year DC business to Edge Centres’ growing footprint. 

Edge Centres, the world’s only off-grid edge data centre operator, has acquired Host Networks, a well-established and successful cloud, physical Server and co-location Data Centre company.

Through the acquisition, Edge Centres adds a further 130 racks stage one, and a new range of customers to its rapidly expanding global portfolio. The site with 20 years+ of robust and secure network along with a stable growth customer base in Eight Mile Plains, Queensland.

Over the next 12 months, the facility will be updated to align with all other Edge Centres facilities to TIER III design, build, and operation. Additionally with a dual focus on sustainability and energy efficiencies.

The facility, totalling 550kW on day one with a second stage of another 250kW, will be Edge Centres’ biggest expansion in Australia to date. With Network already enabling a presence in Sydney, this interconnectivity is also key to the successful delivery of Edge Centres’ mission. With high-speed, redundant, carrier-neutral fibre interconnections from each site to major internet exchanges.

Host Networks, customers and products will be supported by a 24×7 team and have new additions in time to enhance the Australian market. Coupled with the additional support functions, Host Networks will have more vendor support for its operational team in both DC and Network, which will enhance the quality of service.
