EIP lands US$ 21.7 million data center subcontract in Johor

EI Power Technologies subsidiary EI Power Berhad (EIP), a power engineering solutions provider, has entered into a Works Subcontract Agreement (WSA) valued at RM 90.1 million (US$ 21.7 million) for a data center in Johor, Malaysia.

According to a press release, the WSA covers a complete Fuel System Package that includes supply, delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning for the data center. The work is expected to be completed by September 2027.

The firm says that this WSA represents a meaningful contribution to its unbilled order book, which now sits at RM 222.5 million (US$ 53.8 million). Revenue from the contract will be recognized progressively through to September 2027.

The company also raised RM 62.2 million (US$ 15 million) following its listing on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia on May 21, 2026.

“Data centres remain one of the most exciting and structurally supported growth segments in Malaysia. This contract is a clear reflection of the opportunities available to us, and we intend to build on this momentum to win further contracts in data centres renewable energy, and other infrastructure segments that are shaping Malaysia’s growth story,” Albert Chang Wan Siong, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of EIP, said in a press release.

“This award affirms that our capabilities in mission critical power engineering are being recognised at the highest level of the industry. Coming just weeks after our listing, it reflects the kind of growth trajectory we set out to deliver for our shareholders,” the CEO added.

According to the release, the company that awarded EIP the contract is “involved in engineering, construction and investment holding”. Not much more is known and confidentiality terms dictate that this information won’t be disclosed.
