Four data center platforms namely Digital Realty, Equinix, Keppel Data Centres and ST Telemedia Global Data Centres have been announced winners and allocated 200 megawatts (MW) each under Singapore’s second Data Centre – Call for Application (DC-CFA2) exercise. They were selected out of 20 proposals from global and local players through an open competitive process.
The Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) and the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) announced this today in a press release.
The agencies also announced that they will continue to engage industry stakeholders and review the need for another Call for Application in 18 to 24 months.
The four data centers have committed to exceed the minimum sustainability requirements imposed for DC-CFA2, and will power more than 50 per cent of their DC capacity from green energy sources. The green energy could include biomethane, low-carbon ammonia, low-carbon hydrogen, and/or vertical building-integrated photovoltaics/building-applied photovoltaics.
They will also adopt advanced technologies such as liquid cooling and 100 per cent energy-efficient IT equipment including meeting Green Mark DC Platinum Certification, according to EDB’s press release.
Other criteria include anchoring advanced compute capabilities in Singapore for technologies such as AI; and contributing economic benefits beyond direct DC including research and development collaborations with Singapore-based partners.
All four data centers will be hosted on Jurong Island, at the “Sustainable Data Centre Park”, the idea being to jumpstart the renewables sector in Singapore and to position the island as a global testbed for new energies and low-carbon technologies.
Launched on 1 December 2025, the DC-CFA2 is part of Singapore’s controlled-growth regime for approving new data centres.
The pilot DC-CFA, announced in 2023, saw the eventual allocation of 80MW of data centre capacity to four winners who had to make submissions to IMDA and meet criteria such as data centre innovations and economic benefits to Singapore.
