Singapore-based Digital Halo Pte Ltd has topped out the first phase of its 120MW data center campus in Johor, Malaysia, in April 2026, the firm announced in its Linkedin page recently. The first phase of JHB1, which is fully leased out to a single customer, will deliver 20MW of IT capacity. It is scheduled to be operational in Q4 2026.
In May 2025, Partners Group, one of the largest firms in the global private markets industry, acquired a majority stake in Digital Halo and committed US$ 400 million to build out data centers initially in Manila and Johor Bahru, and subsequently elsewhere in the region.
“We are excited to celebrate the rapid and safe delivery of JHB1. This facility represents a foundational infrastructure for the digital economy that enables businesses to grow, supports innovation, and serve as a cornerstone of digital infrastructure for many years to come. We are deeply grateful to the federal government and Johor state leadership for their guidance and support,” said Kai Goh, Digital Halo’s Co-Founder and CEO. “JHB 1 is only the beginning, we are dedicated to prioritising energy efficiency, delivering high-quality digital infrastructure, and responsible operations to support and accelerate a digital ecosystem in Malaysia.”
Jansen Ang, Member of Management, Infrastructure Asia, Partners Group, said: “Johor is an ideal location, underpinned by strong connectivity, a commitment to delivering world-class energy solutions, and a business-friendly environment. We are pleased to see JHB1 fully leased to a leading customer, which strongly validates both the quality of infrastructure being developed, and Johor’s attractiveness as a destination for global digital platforms and long-term investment.”
