India’s third largest Telecome Operator VI(Vodafone idea)has partnered with caregame and announced the country’s first ever 5G mobile cloud gaming service. The company said that with 5G Low latency technology the cloud gaming industry expected decomaratise even further.
In the past few years, India’s nascent online gaming industry witnessed an unprecedented rise, catapulting it to the top five mobile gaming markets in the world .Cloud gaming is a use case of 5G that consumers would be really excited about. Telcos can potentially bundle cloud gaming services with the 5G prepaid plans for the users. According to a report by the Boston Consulting Group, India currently has 300 million mobile gamer. Indian mobile gaming industry is expected to be a $5+ billion market by 2025.

The company will showcase the service at the india mobile congress (IMC),being held from oct 1-4 at pragati maidan NEW DELHI .Cloud gaming platforms operate in a similar manner to remote desktop and video on demand services, games are stored and executed remotely on a provider’s dedicated hardware, and streamed as video to a player’s device via client software. The client software handles the player’s inputs, which are sent back to the server and executed in-game. Some cloud gaming services are based on access to a virtualized Windows environment, allowing users to download and install games and software as they normally would on a local computer.
