The Tan Thuan CMC Data Center, considered the most modern and safest data centre and cloud computing infrastructure facility in Vietnam, officially opened its doors on August 15.
The Tan Thuan CMC Data Center covers 13,000 sq.m. located at Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City with an investment of 1.5 trillion VND (64 million USD) from the CMC technology group, the company said. It was designed by Singapore’s B-Barcelona with stringent international standards for a contemporary data center.
During the opening ceremony, Vietnam President Nguyen Xuan Phuc reiterated the objective of making HCM City a hub of high-quality services, contemporary technology, and advanced culture that can take the lead in advancing the digital economy and society.
According to him, the direct engagement of strong, visionary and enthusiastic tech companies like CMC is vitally important as he calls on businesses to mobilize resources to assist HCM City to become a key center for artificial intelligence and big data in Vietnam and the region
Moreover, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc also praised CMC for its significant investment and outstanding development in the IT industry, praising the company’s third data center, the Tan Thuan Data Center, as a proud step.
He also noted that to grow digital technology infrastructure and workforce, the company should give special attention to developing skilled and high-quality personnel and boosting collaboration with other technology enterprises as he believes that the center will serve as the “heart” of the city’s and the government’s digital transformation services, as well as those of local and international clients.
Furthermore, in order to assist Vietnam become a digital center in Asia-Pacific, the President used this occasion as an opportunity to ask ministries and sectors to develop ground-breaking mechanisms to promote investment in digital transformation and the application of digital technology in various companies.
