SUNeVision Holdings Ltd. and Digital Edge have collaboratively unveiled a strategic alliance aimed at providing comprehensive interconnection and colocation services tailored for hyperscale deployments throughout the APAC region. This partnership marks a significant step towards bolstering the digital infrastructure in the area and expediting global connectivity.
In this venture, SUNeVision’s array of seven data centers in Hong Kong, including the pivotal interconnection hub MEGA-i, will seamlessly integrate with Digital Edge’s expansive digital ecosystem spanning APAC, encompassing facilities in China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, and the Philippines.
By joining forces, these two entities aspire to furnish enterprises with access to carrier-neutral data centers and colocation services, thereby empowering businesses to expand with enhanced agility, efficiency, and scalability. SUNeVision has consistently prioritized the augmentation of one-stop connectivity, and this alliance aligns with that commitment.
In early 2023, the Hong Kong segment of Asia Direct Cable (ADC) made its landing at SUNeVision’s HKIS-1, which stands as the sole carrier-neutral cable landing station in Hong Kong. This development coincided with the establishment of a City Point-of-Presence (PoP) at MEGA Plus, the hyperscale data center operated by SUNeVision.
The collaborative efforts between SUNeVision and Digital Edge not only fortify Hong Kong’s strategic status as a pivotal regional telecom hub but also extend unparalleled colocation solutions to customers across Asia. This includes access to SUNeVision’s world-class facilities in Hong Kong, ensuring seamless connectivity for enterprises with diverse requirements.
Furthermore, the partnership opens up avenues for Chinese companies to expand internationally by leveraging Digital Edge’s extensive regional presence. This includes access to Digital Edge’s recently inaugurated facility, NARRA1, in Manila, as well as the forthcoming EDGE2 data center in downtown Jakarta, scheduled to commence operations in early 2024. The overall impact is poised to contribute to the seamless integration of businesses and the facilitation of cross-border connectivity in the APAC region.
