stc Bahrain Demonstrates 5G Voice over New Radio

stc Bahrain announced another technological breakthrough with the successful demonstration of 5G Voice over New Radio (VoNR). As the first telecom operator in the Kingdom to advance its 5G capabilities with technology partner, Huawei, is a testament to the high capabilities of stc Bahrain network to support 5G Standalone (SA) architectures and offer its subscribers a high-definition voice experience over 5G.

The standalone 5G network of stc Bahrain ensures a superior experience for its 5G users, including incredibly fast speeds and real-time responses for both voice and data services, according to ITP

According to Ahmed Alsharif, Chief Technology and Digital Officer at stc Bahrain,

“The 5G standalone network and 5G VoNR are a key enablers of next-generation immersive applications that combine 5G speeds and high-definition audio. The successful VoNR demonstration brings a step closer to unleashing our 5G standalone network is the latest technological breakthrough of how 5G can deliver a new and superior user experience via a cloud-native 5G Standalone architecture.“This is another milestone for us, as we work with Huawei to deliver a world-class network for Bahrain community to experience ultrafast 5G speeds throughout the calls as we continue to deliver 5G capabilities to support technology innovation in the Kingdom.” 

 

As the first operator to launch 5G technology and enable the adoption of 5G service across the Kingdom, the company has taken a new step in achieving its vision of becoming a world-class digital enabler.

The telecom operator has made strategic investments to establish and develop the infrastructure to power the next version of 5G (5.5G) within the next three years including plans to the foundation for a 5.5G network, reflecting stc Bahrain’s commitment to invest in the latest technology and keep up with global trends.
