SiMa.ai, a privately held fabless semiconductor and artificial intelligence (AI) platform company, has raised US$ 150 million in Series C funding as the chip and software company expands its focus on AI systems running on robots, drones, vehicles and other physical devices. The funding comes as demand for computing in physical AI applications is expected to grow. Counterpoint Research projects cumulative shipments of physical AI devices, including robotics, automotive systems and drones, to reach 145 million units by 2035.

According to a press release,  the financing brings SiMa.ai’s total capital raised to US$ 500 million and values the company at US$ 1.45 billion. Fidelity Management & Research Company and Amplify led the round, which also included existing investors Alter Venture Partners, Dell Technologies Capital, Maverick Capital, +ND Capital, Point72 and StepStone Group. AllianceBernstein, Baron Capital, J.P. Morgan and the State of Michigan participated as new investors.

Krishna Rangasayee, Founder and CEO, SiMa.ai, said, “Physical AI in humanoids, automotive, and drones is the gateway to a US$ 50 trillion market that has remained largely untouched by modern innovation, while others are still figuring out the pieces or repurposing their cloud offerings, we’ve built the entire puzzle. This investment will further catapult us into a dominant position, giving us the resources to scale our purpose-built platform and secure an undeniable lead in the Physical AI race.”

Mike Dauber, General Partner, Amplify Partners, said, “Since our initial partnership with SiMa.ai, we have believed its vision was both clear and transformative to build a fundamentally new architecture for Physical AI where software dictates the silicon. SiMa.ai has consistently proven its ability to out-innovate and out-execute the rest of the market, dramatically reducing the complexity of deploying advanced AI models on physical edge devices, and accelerating time to market for the world’s most sophisticated autonomous systems.”

Scott Darling, President and Managing Director, Dell Technologies Capital, said, “One of our core priorities at Dell Tech Capital is to back foundational technologies that bridge the gap between the data center and the far edge. As enterprise intelligence migrates into the physical world, it’s been challenged by the tradeoff between performance and power. SiMa.ai is shattering that barrier. Its platform delivers the software agility and Physical AI-optimized compute that modern enterprises require to scale computer vision and autonomous capabilities. As investors, we view SiMa.ai as a critical silicon provider and enabler for the next evolution of distributed Physical AI infrastructure.”

John Avirett, Partner at StepStone Group, said, “Truly scaling physical AI requires more than just raw compute. It demands incredible power efficiency and seamless integration into highly constrained environments. SiMa.ai has created a differentiated, purpose-built Physical AI platform that answers the rigorous demands of real world applications to empower the next generation of robotics, drones, autonomous systems, and advanced industrial technology.”

SiMa.ai will use the new capital to expand its Palette Neat software environment and develop its next generation of AI chips. The company is targeting hardware capable of 1,000 dense TOPS of compute, with the new products expected in the first half of 2028.

The planned hardware will include machine learning IP, chiplets and systems-on-chip (SoCs). SiMa.ai is developing the products for applications ranging from medium and high-end drones and humanoid robots to advanced driver-assistance systems and AI-enabled automotive cockpits. The applications running on its current platform will be able to migrate to its next-generation hardware architectures.

SiMa.ai also pointed to growth in its commercial business as it raises additional capital. The company said its revenue growth quadrupled year over year between 2024 and 2025 and that revenue continued to grow in 2026. Its customers and partners include ARK Electronics, AVerMedia, Bosch, Emerson, Intrinsic, Kontron, L&T Technology Services, Micron, STIGA, Synopsys, TRUMPF SE and Virya Autonomous Technologies.
