Prasad Tilve has joined the CapitaLand India data centre team as the Head of Business Development & Strategy.
He will spearhead strategies to grow opportunities for CapitaLand India’s data centre business across India, the company said in its LinkedIn post. Tilve has spent more than 25 years in business development and sales, focusing on large technology services deals in data centre, Cloud, Managed Services and Managed Security Services across verticals.
In his recent stint of over 10 years with global data centres and cloud services, Tilve managed a diverse portfolio of sales, strategic alliances, channel partners ecosystem, government & PSUs helping clients achieve business growth.
India’s data centre industry is expected to double capacity by 2023, on the back of increased digitalisation, rising cloud adoption and ambitious growth plans of operators.
The demand momentum which picked up pace in 2020, continues to grow unabated. Global investors and data centre players have increased their commitment during the last six months, announcing joint ventures with operators to setup sites.
“The Indian data centre industry witnessed 46.4 MW absorption during H1 2021 -equivalent to 90 per cent of supply addition during the period (H1 2021), indicating robust absorption growth,” said Rachit Mohan, Head, Data Center Advisory – India; Co-Head, Office Leasing Advisory – Mumbai, JLL.
Further, JLL has also noted that NCR-Delhi is expected to emerge as a new data centre hotspot as demand from Government departments and IT/ITeS are expected to drive further growth.
