Over One-Third of Singapore IT Teams Lack Complete Data Visibility: Survey

Over one-third of Singapore’s IT teams lack complete visibility into where their data is stored, according to Nutanix’s Enterprise Cloud Index (ECI) survey and research report.

Based on a release from Data & Storage Asean, the report highlighted that 39% of IT teams in Singapore do not know where their data resides. It further revealed that as IT infrastructure is becoming increasingly diverse, it poses integration challenges for organisations in managing and controlling data. The report found that most IT teams use more than one type of IT infrastructure, and this trend is expected to grow in the future.

Other key findings in the report show that 67% of IT teams in Singapore use multiple IT infrastructures, including combinations of private and public clouds, public clouds or on-premise and a hosted data center. This percentage is expected to increase to 91% in the near future.

It was further mentioned that almost all (99%) of survey respondents believe that having a unified platform to manage applications and data across different environments would be advantageous.

U.K researcher Vanson Bourne surveyed 1,450 IT decision makers globally in December 2022 and January 2023. The respondents were from different industries, organisation sizes and countries including North and South America; Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA); and the Asia-Pacific-Japan (APJ) region.
