New Data Center Solution from NVIDIA and Dell for the AI Era

US multinational technology companies, NVIDIA and Dell Technologies have developed a new data center solution built for the AI era that gives businesses all over the world access to AI training, AI inference, data processing, data science, and zero-trust security capabilities.

The solution is tailored for VMware’s vSphere 8 enterprise workload platform and combines Dell PowerEdge servers with NVIDIA BlueField DPUs, NVIDIA GPUs, and NVIDIA AI Enterprise software.

To explore the integration of these technologies, businesses can use NVIDIA LaunchPad, a hands-on lab program that gives access to hardware and software for end-to-end workflows in AI, data science, and other areas.

According to Manuvir Das, head of enterprise computing at NVIDIA, the world’s businesses are being compelled to redesign their data centers by the combined forces of AI and zero-trust security as computing and networking workloads soar. The NVIDIA BlueField DPU is used by VMware vSphere 8 to offload, accelerate, isolate, and improve the security of data center infrastructure services, freeing up processing power for the world’s corporations’ intelligence factories.

Additionally, by running on BlueField, vSphere 8 significantly improves workload performance. Customers can speed up networking and security services, reduce CPU usage, maintain performance, and satisfy the throughput and latency requirements of contemporary distributed applications by offloading to the DPU. As a result, the combination strengthens infrastructure security for data center, edge, cloud, and hybrid environments, increases performance and efficiency, and makes operations simpler.

The Dell PowerEdge servers will be able to operate the NVIDIA and VMware AI-Ready Enterprise Platform, a product that includes the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software package and VMware vSphere, as they are NVIDIA-Certified Systems.

In a future version of NVIDIA AI Enterprise, greater multi-GPU workloads, resource optimization, and simple GPU lifecycle management are just a few of the new features that VMware vSphere 8 will enable.

For Travis Vigil, Dell Technologies senior vice president, through a solution that integrates NVIDIA GPUs and BlueField DPUs into their PowerEdge server platform, their ongoing partnership will provide customers with performance and security capabilities to aid enterprises in resolving some of the biggest challenges in the world.ai
