NEOM Tech & Digital Company has selected Oracle Dedicated Region [email protected] to create a scalable platform for its mission-critical IT workloads. Under their collaboration, NEOM will be able to access Oracle’s portfolio of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) public cloud services and Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications.
In a press statement released by Oracle, the company affirmed that Oracle’s services would aid NEOM in meeting local data residency and latency requirements, while reducing NEOM’s operating costs for its 36 MW ZeroPoint DC data centre.
This announcement reinforces the long-standing collaborative relationship between NEOM and Oracle in Saudi Arabia. In October 2021, NEOM Tech & Digital Company announced that Oracle would be the first tenant at its hyperscale data centre at NEOM.
Oracle Dedicated Region [email protected] is a self-contained cloud region which provides the full features of public cloud without requiring NEOM-hosted customer data to leave NEOM’s data centres. With NEOM’s adoption of Oracle’s cloud services, NEOM will be able to access new on-premise cloud services which Oracle made available in its public cloud regions. As such, NEOM will also be able to reduce database administration costs by up to 80%.
Enhancing Public Cloud Capacity in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia has embarked on digital transformation efforts by accelerating adoption of Internet of Things services and artificial intelligence, and aims to expand smart cities in the country. Notably, Saudi Arabia’s mobile network ICT infrastructure services market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 10.71% from 2023 to 2027. Consumer demand for cloud services in Saudi Arabia will likely grow in tandem with the growth of Saudi Arabia’s mobile network and ICT infrastructure services.
Executive Vice President of Technology, EMEA at Oracle Richard Smith expressed his support for the collaboration between NEOM and Oracle, saying that “NEOM’s vision of building the world’s first cognitive community means harnessing the latest digital technologies. The Oracle Dedicated Region [email protected] has been designed to address demanding data residency and privacy requirement.”
“With this, we can focus on ensuring our customers can run a self-contained region where all hosted data, remain local to that region. This makes Oracle Dedicated Region [email protected] the perfect framework to support NEOM to achieve its vision.”
Fabio Fontana, the CEO of Zeropoint DC and Chief Growth Officer at NEOM Tech & Digital Company, affirmed that “Dedicated Region [email protected] is a natural progression of our ZeroPoint DC partnership with Oracle, and will allow us to fully tap into the potential of cognitive solutions that we are developing.”
“Our continued partnership means that the infrastructure and best-in-class services provided by Oracle Dedicated Region [email protected] will play an instrumental role in powering the cognitive ecosystem at NEOM and support a growing digital economy for residents in Saudi Arabia and the broader region.”
