Managing your Multi-Tenant Datacenter in an Evolving Market

[Online] Fri, 22nd Oct 2021, 9:00am – 10:45am (GMT +8)
Registration On-Invite Only

Singapore has set the gold standard for digital infrastructure in Southeast Asia, and has retained its position as the premiere datacenter hub in the region even as neighboring markets Malaysia and Indonesia are quickly establishing themselves in their own right.

Altogether, the industry expects to see a CAGR of 13% between 2019 and 2024 (Cushman and Wakefield).

Specifically, Multi-Tenant Data Centers (MTDCs) are experiencing their time in the spotlight. This is due to the global rise of Cloud computing and adoption of digital tools from new companies and industries in the past few years. The majority of companies using cloud services choose to operate from MTDC facilities due to the increased speed to market these centers offer (Enterprise World Asia).

As the demands for data storage increase, there is increased scrutiny on the datacenter operators themselves to ensure optimal uptime and minimal latency for the broad range of customers they now service.

Flexibility, scalability and reliability are now key variables in the increasingly competitive datacenter landscape of Southeast Asia. So, how can you ensure that the technology underpinning your digital infrastructure is as robust and innovative as the services hosted within it.

In this session, “Managing your Multi-Tenant Datacenter in an Evolving Market” we will bring together top IT experts and network engineers to discuss the latest challenges, opportunities, and innovations in the MTDC industry.

Over the course of 1.5 hours, we will take a deeper look into how Singapore’s MTDC solutions can drive value to your company, and how to best select the right infrastructure for your organisation.

09:05Keynote: Multi-Tenant Datacenter Market Trends in APAC

As the data storage and cloud markets grow and diversify, so does the multi-tenant datacenter (MTDC) sector. But where is this growth concentrated in APAC, and which of the region’s international players are driving this growth? In this session’s opening address, Kevin Imboden will cover market projections, trends, and technological innovations on the horizon for Asias’ datacenter industry, with a specific focus on colocation facilities.

Speaker:
Kevin Imboden, Director of Research, Cushman & Wakefield
09:15Keynote: Infrastructure Solutions for the Future of Datacenters

The exploding demand for cloud bandwidth is pushing data center teams to rethink their network infrastructure to support faster data speeds, lower latency requirements and future technologies. How can data center teams design agile and scalable infrastructure that is ready for exponential growth in computing and storage needs? In this session, Matias Peluffo will cover the key trends and technologies driving data center speeds from 100G to 400G and beyond, and will review a physical infrastructure checklist to maximize the effectiveness of infrastructure deployments for today and tomorrow.

Speaker:
Matias Peluffo, VP Enterprise Infrastructure APAC, CommScope
09:35Audience Q&A
09:45Case Study: Implementing Cutting Edge Technologies in Your Datacenter

Challenges faced by colo and connectivity players and the need for technologies to optimize their DC operations and customers’ experience
Deployment of Commscope solutions including using their system to manage inventory, capacity and utilization
Innovating NTT’s Virtual Data Center dashboard for customers to view manage their utilization and operations
“A structured cabling system is a critical pillar for ensuring network uptime. In a large scale tenant data centre, the structured cabling system has to be planned with aimed operation performance in mind. NTT will share their experience in how they collaborate with Commscope using the Commscope ImVision solution to enable SLA commitment in connectivity for their data center customers in Hong Kong.”

Speaker:
Steven So, VP Data Centers, HK NTT
10:05Panel Discussion: Leveraging the Singapore Datacenter Market: Challenges & Opportunities

In this panel discussion, data center experts will discuss the practical implementation of new datacenter technologies, and specifically, how these new technologies can drive business growth. As the market evolves in complexity, customer needs are also becoming more complex. Power and proximity are no longer the only selling points of a datacenter: buyers are looking for flexible design, low cost, and quick implementation. MTDC operators that satisfy these requirements are bringing powerful connectivity and services to new locations, making them invaluable components to the growing ecosystems of AI and IoT in Asia.

Tune in to hear how MTDC providers are rising to meet the challenges of today’s market and transforming the datacenter industry from within.
