Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH), an Indonesian telecommunication provider, has announced its strategic Content Delivery Network (CDN) partnership with Edgio, Inc., formerly known as Limelight Networks, Inc., with its vision to become the most preferred digital telco of Indonesia.
IOH is utilizing the strength of Edgio’s industry global CDN services to offer its users improved streaming speed and connection.
The widespread use of the internet and the unrestricted growth of online entertainment alternatives over the past few years have resulted in Indonesians consuming more than 3.5 billion hours of over-the-top (OTT) content per month.
Although the future for relevant industries is much improved by this growing demand, it also brings to the forefront a significant technical issue that requires industry players to start addressing their content delivery strategy seriously.

By establishing new Points of Presence (PoPs) in three of IOH’s data centers, which are situated in Jakarta, Surabaya, and Medan, Edgio will be working to further strengthen IOH’s CDN capabilities in Indonesia.
In addition to adding to Edgio’s current worldwide network of over 300 PoPs, these hyperlocal PoPs will also help the telecom provider’s coverage grow and enable a performance leap.
