In a tragic development, Director of Technology and Information for Indomaret Howard Timothy Palar died on Thursday morning after he was reportedly struck by a truck as he was cycling in the area of Serpong, South Tangerang, along with his family.
Indomaret is one of Indonesia’s largest convenience store chains with over 10,000 stores spread across the country, according to reports from the local media. Indomaret management confirmed this tragic news.
“Howard Timothy Palar (60 years old) passed away as Indomaret Information & Technology Director on Thursday, October 6,” said Indomaret Marketing Communication Executive Director Feki Oktavianus in Jakarta, Thursday afternoon. Feki also confirmed Howard died while cycling with his family in Serpong, South Tangerang (Tangsel).
Howard’s career at Indomaret began in 2004 as he contributed greatly to the development of IT Indomaret.
“On behalf of the management and employees, we feel deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. Howard. Our colleagues and friends. May his spirit be accepted by God and his extended family will be given strength,” Feki said in a written statement.
