Ilkari, a multinational sovereign infrastructure provider, has integrated Croatian data center operator DC North into its European operations, expanding its infrastructure footprint in the European Union and adding to its existing operations in Iceland and Colombia.

The integration extends Ilkari’s presence in EU-based infrastructure markets focused on data sovereignty and regulated industries. DC North will become part of the company’s infrastructure platform, which combines domain services, colocation and sovereign cloud services.

According to an Ilkari press release, DC North operates a 4 MW carrier-neutral data center in Varaždin, 70 kms north of Zagreb, Croatia. The facility is designed for organisations with European regulatory, operational and data sovereignty requirements. The data center provides direct connectivity to internet exchange points in Austria, Hungary and Slovenia, offering low-latency connections across central Europe. This is one of Croatia’s largest carrier-neutral data centers by operational power capacity and has capacity for future expansion.

“European organisations are increasingly reassessing where critical infrastructure is operated, how data is governed and how operational resilience is ensured across complex digital environments. The integration of DC North strengthens our European presence and enhances our ability to support customers that require resilient, sovereign-aligned infrastructure within the European Union.” said Shane Paterson, Chief Executive Officer, Ilkari.

The facility holds Uptime Tier III Design and Facility certification, as well as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 20000, ISO 27001 and ISO 22301 certifications. It is also PCI DSS compliant and aligned with the European Union’s Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), which sets ICT resilience and risk management requirements for financial services and other regulated sectors.

DC North will continue to operate with its existing on-site management, operations and technical teams while integration into Ilkari’s wider European operations platform continues.
