IBM and Wasabi Technologies, a cloud storage company, are in collaboration to allow companies to run applications on a hybrid cloud setup.
This partnership will give enterprise businesses to run applications across any environment be it on-premise, cloud or Edge and allow the users to save money when accessing data and analytics in real time.
With the IBM Cloud Satellite’s hybrid cloud strategy, clients can store and retrieve data according to their requirements.
The security and controls used in this approach enable clients to manage cloud object storage and workloads across different environments, all from a single control point. Data is collected, processed, and shared regardless of location.
The Boston Red Sox will be the first client to utilize this service. This collaboration aims to provide the team with tools and technology that drive efficiency.
“Our critical data is growing at an incredible rate, so our organisation is prioritising a cost-effective and scalable approach to leverage cloud technology,” said Brian Shield, senior vice president and chief technology officer of the Boston Red Sox.
Last year, VMware, a cloud computing company, launched VMware vSphere+ and VMware vSAN+ that allow businesses to incorporate cloud benefits into their existing on-premises infrastructure without disrupting their workloads or hosts.
