Globe Telecom has successfully rolled out the most advanced 5G technology, the End-to-End (E2E) Network Slicing Function of 5G Standalone (SA), in the Philippines.
Gerhard Tan, the Director and Head of Technology Strategy and Innovations at Globe, emphasized that Network Slicing stands out due to its ability to provide customized service experiences for customers based on the specific applications they use within the network.
Network Slicing, which is one of the fundamental features of 5G, facilitates comprehensive connectivity by dividing a unified network into distinct segments tailored to different application types or user groups. Each segment operates with its own dedicated resources, performance guarantees, and functions, while utilizing the same physical infrastructure.
Furthermore, Globe Telecom recently announced the successful implementation of 5G Voice over New Radio (VoNR) technology in the Philippines. VoNR is a voice solution built on a standalone 5G network, offering enhanced voice quality, rapid call setup, and seamless handovers.
