Global real estate giant JLL has hired Chris Street as the new Managing Director, in an effort to strengthen its data centre business.
Based in Singapore, Street will be responsible for business development and client management across all data centre products and services in the region, JLL said in a statement.
Street has over 20 years of data centre and digital infrastructure experience worldwide, most recently with global data centre operator Princeton Digital Group where he was tasked with strategic sales, marketing and ESG activities. Previously, he also worked at ST Telemedia Global Data centres, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and more.
Data centre Business
According to JLL, the strategic expansion of the data centre business is in response to the growing market in Asia and client appetite for creative real estate and capital solutions for this asset class.
APAC data centre investment transactions reached $5.4 billion in 2021 – up 30 per cent year-on-year and more than double of levels in 2019. 85 percent of this volume is attributable to Greater China, India, Japan and Australia.
Through our interactions with clients regionally and globally, it’s clear that demand for data centre expertise is increasing and requires a platform offering advice and solutions that cater to both investors and occupiers, said JLL’s APAC chief executive Anthony Couse.
