CtrlS to Develop 150MW Hyperscale Data Center in Thailand’s Chonburi Province

CtrlS has announced its plans to establish a cutting-edge hyperscale data center in Chonburi Province, located in Thailand.

CtrlS has entered into a memorandum of agreement with the Eastern Economic Corridor Office (EECO), a public agency responsible for economic development in the region. The agreement grants CtrlS a lease on a 10-acre land parcel for an impressive duration of 50 years.

According to Sridhar Pinnapureddy, Chairman of CtrlS, the data center development in the Eastern Economic Corridor will attract both international and domestic hyperscale and enterprise customers.

The chosen location for CtrlS’ data center holds great importance, as it offers close proximity to vital submarine cable landing stations for the Asia-America Gateway (AAG) and Asia Direct Cable (ADC) systems. This advantage positions the data center as a central connection point, equipped with advanced submarine and terrestrial cable networks, facilitating seamless connectivity with other data centers and industrial estates.

Currently operating 10 data centers in five prominent markets, CtrlS has expressed its ambition to triple the existing 8 data centers to 25 by 2025, as well as expanding its footprint by an additional five million sq ft from the current 1.2.

Last month, CtrlS just started the construction of its Greenfield Edge Data Center in Odisha which will be located at Infocity, Chandrasekharpur in Bhubaneswar.

Looking beyond their current markets, CtrlS also has its sights set on exploring new opportunities in overseas markets within a number of promising regions in Southeast Asia and the Middle East in order to create a connected future that benefits enterprise clients and hyperscalers globally.
