The Andhra Pradesh state government in India has granted a slew of approvals including allocating Sify Infinit Spaces Limited (SISL), a subsidiary of Sify Technologies, additional land for the second phase of its Rs 15,266-crore (US$ 160.03 million), 500 MW data centre project in Vishakapatanam.
The company will be granted an additional 25 acres for the second phase of the buildout as part of the state’s push to strengthen regional digital infrastructure. Previously, SISL was granted 3.6-acres at Madhurawada and 25-acres at Paradesipalem in 2025, according to the Deccan Chronicle.
The state government will allot 12.40-acres of this new land, subject to the outcome of a case involving the Survey and Settlements Department. The remaining 12.60-acres are set to be allocated once pending court cases involving the land have been settled. SISL will reportedly be paying Rs 50 lakh (US$ 52,143) per acre. The company must implement Phase 1 of the project before the remaining land is allocated, the government said.
In addition to the land granted to SISL, the government has allocated 49.93-acres of land to CtrlS Datacenters Ltd at the APIIC Industrial Park in Rambilli. The company will establish a 100 MW data centre in the Anakapalle district at an investment of Rs 2,788.3 crore (US$ 292 million). It is reported that a custom incentive package has been granted to CtrlS including a capital subsidy, reimbursement on construction related state goods and services tax, subsidized power, and other benefits subject to prescribed limits.
In addition, Infinx Technology Solutions Pvt Ltd has been allocated 5.08-acres at Kapuluppada IT Park to establish an IT/ITeS campus with a proposed investment of Rs 170 crore (US$ 17.8 million). Two acres have also been allotted to Eclat Health Solutions (India) Private Limited, also for an IT/ITeS campus at Rushikonda, Madhurawada. The company is developing the site with an investment of Rs 50 crore (US$5.24 million).
These land allocations form part of the Andhra Pradesh government’s push to bring more data center capacity online. Over the next four years, the state plans to improve data center capacity by up to 1 GW. This push has attracted companies such as Google, which broke ground on its US$ 15 billion India AI hub in Vishakhapatnam earlier this year.
