Alibaba Cloud, the foundation of Alibaba Group’s digital technology and intelligence, has officially launched its newest support program to enable Philippine enterprises to investigate cutting-edge cloud computing technologies and start their journeys toward digitalization.
Alibaba announced the “Cloud ONE” program at the Alibaba Cloud Summit Philippines 2022. The program is designed to assist qualified Philippine enterprises in utilizing cutting-edge digital technologies and proactively addressing a range of challenges across various industries while co-creating inclusive digitalization across various stakeholders.
The program aims to give Philippine enterprises the tools they need to onboard with Alibaba Cloud more quickly. These tools include no-cost services to facilitate migration to Alibaba Cloud, streamlined access to the ecosystem of solutions offered by the Alibaba Group, including those pertaining to e-commerce and payments, no-cost access to industry experts, and cloud training to aid in business expansion.
According to Atty. Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, Undersecretary for ICT Industry Development, the Philippines Department of Information and Communications Technology(DICT), governments must keep up with the pace of an increasingly connected world and the aspirations of their citizens for public services that are quicker, more responsive, transparent, inclusive, and efficient.
Hence, promoting and achieving digital transformation is the Philippines’ main strategy for accomplishing this. The foundation for digital governance and, eventually, the development of a strong digital economy should include leveraging cloud-based technologies and solutions.
Additionally, during the summit, Alibaba Cloud signed agreements aimed at assisting clients and partners in accelerating their capacity for digital innovation through the use of cutting-edge cloud computing technology. One of these contracts has been signed with ABS-CBN, the top content provider in the country.
As ABS-CBN expands its presence in the production and distribution of digital content, it needs a scalable storage solution provider that not only makes real-time data management possible but also provides reliable archiving and protection for existing data assets.
According to Erwin Malimban, ABS-CBN head of broadcast technology, to better serve Filipino audiences both domestically and overseas, they aim to develop their digital activities in a secure and effective manner. They are given the ability to achieve that thanks to Alibaba Cloud, a reputable cloud service provider with years of experience and a developed ecosystem of cloud-based platforms and services.
In the Philippines, Alibaba Cloud, the top public cloud service provider in Asia and the Pacific, opened a local data center last year. It makes use of its expertise in cloud computing to offer a variety of top-notch solutions, including elastic compute, database, security, storage, and network services, as well as machine learning and data analytics capabilities, to address difficulties and challenges in the country’s various significant industries.
