Sangha Renewables (Sangha), a privately held energy infrastructure and data center technology company, has advanced its 110.4 MW data center project in Ector County, Texas, through a power interconnection process after Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Inc (ERCOT), an American organization that operates Texas’ electrical grid, classified it as Base Load under the grid operator’s Batch Zero review.
According to a press release, the designation moves the project into the next stage of ERCOT’s review of large electricity users seeking to connect to the Texas grid. However, it remains conditional pending ERCOT’s audit and verification procedures. The project currently has 19.9 MW of available power, with Sangha holding rights to expand the site to its full 110.4 MW capacity with an additional 90.5 MW power allocation expected in May 2028.
The Base Load classification places the project among the large-load developments progressing through ERCOT’s Batch Zero process, the first large-scale review conducted under the state’s evolving framework for connecting major new electricity users.
Sangha announced the development, known as Project Genesis, in 2025. The campus is being developed alongside a utility-scale solar facility in Ector County and is intended to support data center workloads including artificial intelligence, cloud computing, inference and high-performance computing.
Sangha is continuing work on the project as ERCOT completes its review while Marathon Capital is serving as exclusive financial adviser in a strategic process related to the opportunity.
