Vultr, a cloud infrastructure company, has opened a new cloud data center region in Milan, its ninth in Europe and 33rd globally, as the company expands AI and cloud infrastructure footprint across the region.
According to a press release, the Milan region joins Vultr’s existing European locations in Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Manchester, Paris, Stockholm, and Warsaw. The company said the site will offer its full-stack AI infrastructure as well as GPU services powered by NVIDIA and AMD hardware.
J.J. Kardwell, CEO, Vultr, said, “Italy is one of Europe’s fastest-growing cloud infrastructure markets, and Milan is at the heart of it, Vultr is here because the enterprises and developers driving that growth need high-performance cloud infrastructure without the cost and complexity of the traditional hyperscalers. This is a long-term investment in Italy and in European AI innovation.”
The new region is aimed at enterprises and developers running workloads such as AI applications, SaaS platforms, databases, analytics, ERP software, microservices, and APIs.
Vultr has connected its Autonomous System Number (ASN) to the Milan Internet Exchange (MIX), allowing direct peering with other networks to reduce latency and keep regional traffic local.
