Princeton Digital Group (PDG), a prominent data center provider with presence across APAC, has commenced construction of its MU2 data center campus in Mumbai, following a recent groundbreaking ceremony.

In a LinkedIn post, PDG revealed that MU2 is a 120 MW hyperscale data center campus and part of PDG’s recently announced expansion toward a 1 GW portfolio in India. Readers would recall that in March 2026, PDG had announced a strategic multi-site acquisition in India that adds 210 MW of capacity to its current platform, and increases PDG’s total operating and planned capacity in the country to a gigawatt.

“The development reflects our approach to delivering capacity in step with demand, supporting the continued growth of AI and cloud workloads across the country,” it said in the post.

PDG appears to have big plans for India. In May 2025, it successfully raised over US$ 1.2 billion in financing to support its continued expansion and development of AI-ready data center infrastructure across Asia. This includes US$ 800 million in project financing for the development and expansion of PDG’s AI-ready data center campuses in Mumbai, as well as two other geographies.

So far, PDG has committed about USD 2.5 billion to India. With the latest expansion, PDG aims to strengthen its presence across seven countries in Asia, building on its 1.8 GW+ portfolio.
