Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) has approved seven new data center projects with combined investment value of USD 3.1 billion (THB 96.88 billion), the BOI states in a press release recently.

The seven projects include: True Internet Data Center Co., Ltd. (223 MW) at USD 1.4 billion (THB 45.3 billion) investment; GSA Data Center 05 Co., Ltd. (120MW) at USD 1.2 billion (THB 37.2 billion); Stellar DC Co., Ltd. (25MW) at USD 300 million (THB 8.1 billion) which is a STECON Group project co-developed with SC Zeus Data Centers (Singapore); and Freyr Technology (Thailand) Co., Ltd.: at USD 200 million (THB 6.3 billion).

Most of the projects are located in Chonburi, Samut Prakan, Rayong and Bangkok.

“These strategic investments are crucial for accelerating Thailand’s digital transformation,” said Narit Therdsteerasukdi, Secretary General of the Thailand BOI at its first board meeting of 2026, which was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ekniti Nitithanprapas.

In 2025, the BOI has received a cumulative total of 36 data center projects, representing a combined investment value exceeding USD 23.1 billion (THB 728 billion). These facilities are located across key provinces including Bangkok, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Pathum Thani, Rayong, and Samut Prakan.

The sector’s ongoing focus on high-efficiency “Green Data Centers” aligns with global sustainability trends and supports Thailand’s commitment to responsible development, as well as fostering a robust domestic supply chain.

“By expanding our domestic data center capabilities, we ensure faster data access (low latency), bolster cybersecurity, and strengthen data sovereignty. This makes Thailand an even more attractive destination for global digital players and a true Digital Innovation Hub for ASEAN,” Narit added.
