Ethical Internet Exchange (Etix), a French edge-data-center operator, has announced the launch of ETIX Lille #4, a new facility located at the main telecom hub of the Hauts-de-France region. This is the fourth Lille site, and Etix’s 14th data center in Europe, adds 2 MW of capacity to the local campus.
It is designed for high-density workloads and AI-ready deployments, and aims to maintain strong energy efficiency via advanced cooling systems and high-performance corridors.
Readers would recall that in October, Etix had secured €170 million ($200m) in financing to support its European expansion.
Apart from Lille, Etix is also expanding in the Paris region, with 2 MW of additional capacity planned in Vélizy (ETIX Paris #3) for 2026, and is upgrading former Databank sites to meet its latest energy and density standards.
Etix currently operates 13 of its 15 data centers in France, and has become a prominent player in the country’s proximity infrastructure sector. Its sites form a network which interconnects from Nantes, Lille, Paris, Lyon,Montpellier and Toulouse, offering facilities used for connectivity, data hosting, and increasingly for AI-related workloads.
These regions have a high demand for streaming services, IoT and telecom infrastructures which present AWS, Google and Meta the ability to enhance their data center services.
