Data center equipment and servers produce a lot of heat, which means a large portion of expenditures come from cooling. IT equipment must remain at a safe temperature, which calls for proper ventilation and cooling in the data center. Power consumption can be lessened by optimizing or innovating not just the cooling operations, but also the technology adoption.

This category is open to any recent (<18 months) data center project that resulted in significant benefits to the data center owner where the energy efficiency of the facilities concerned.

Many data centers have made a commitment to sustainable energy solutions by turning to sources of renewable power.

This category is open to any recent (<18 months) project involving the design and build of a new data center anywhere in the region.

Many organizations still rely on so-called legacy systems – software developed over the lifetime of an organization housed on traditional IT infrastructure. Despite maintainability issues, on-premise legacy systems are still crucial as they support core business processes that cannot simply be replaced.

Fast growing organisations are also experiencing far greater application and infrastructure density.

Scalability, reliability and interoperability of IT infrastructure environments are some of the key reasons for enterprises to move their business-critical systems to the cloud.

Open to any recent (<18 months) project involving the consolidation of several data centres or enterprise IT infrastructure resulting in migration to the Cloud.

Probably one of the least recognised teams in a data center establishment, a high performing service and maintenance team offers data center owners and operators a peace of mind. It is not unusual for the service and maintenance team to be the recipient of night-time calls, long hours and the feeling of never making any progress. Every service engineering, preventive and corrective maintenance member faces the same daily pressures around uptime, production, budget, skills, people and compliance.

This category is open to Service Providers or Data Center Owners who wish to recognise their supporting teams in a recent (<18 months) project or incident.
