VNET Group, Inc., a provider of internet data center services in China, recently presented its progress in developing renewable energy infrastructure to representatives from the US-China Green Energy Council (UCGEC) during a visit to its Taicang data center campus in the Yangtze River Delta region of China.
Dr. Steven Chu, Chief Scientist of the UCGEC and Nobel Laureate in Physics, along with Dr. Robert Weisenmiller, Senior Advisor of the UCGEC and former Chairman of the California Energy Commission, led a delegation that toured VNET’s Taicang data center campus.
This campus, designed as a multi-phase flagship project, showcases high power density cabinets and extensive use of liquid cooling technology, underscoring the company’s efficient construction and delivery of premium data centers.
Sustainable development is at the core of VNET’s mission, with a goal to achieve operational carbon neutrality in both Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions and utilize 100% renewable energy in operations by 2030.
