VNET and SDHG for Green Computing in Northern China

VNET Group and Shandong Hi-Speed Holdings Group Limited (SDHG) have joined forces to advance renewable energy initiatives in northern China. The collaboration extends to the development of cutting-edge computing power network infrastructures, encompassing data centers, cloud computing, and big data applications.

Their shared objective is to foster low-carbon and high-quality growth in IDC services, aligning with the national strategy ‘East Data, West Computing.’ The proposed renewable energy system emphasizes low-carbon, security, and high efficiency.

This strategic alliance harnesses the combined domestic and international resources of both companies. VNET’s proficiency in delivering reliable, secure, and swift internet infrastructure synergizes with SDHG’s expertise in infrastructure and renewable energy, marking a significant step toward a sustainable future.

Last month, VNET also presented its progress in developing renewable energy infrastructure to representatives from the US-China Green Energy Council (UCGEC) during a visit to its Taicang data center campus in the Yangtze River Delta region of China.

Sustainable development is at the core of VNET’s mission, with a goal to achieve operational carbon neutrality in both Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions and utilize 100% renewable energy in operations by 2030.
