SIJORI Week: Unforgettable 2025 and Encore in 2026

The palpable sense of excitement during the entire SIJORI Week 2025 event organised by W. Media was still felt weeks after the event ended. The week-long event had left an indelible mark on many who attended. All the participants interviewed expressed a great desire to return next year with some enthusiastically recalling the great networking and camaraderie during the sports events, the enlightening talks and forums, and even the drinks. It was one of the most exciting industry events to emerge in years combining networking opportunities, business collaboration, learning and fun into one weeklong unforgettable ‘extravaganza’.

On a serious note, W. Media’s SIJORI Week 2025 was a significant platform for fostering collaboration, investment, and sustainable growth in the tri-border digital hub of Singapore, Johor, and Batam, with its data center market projected to surpass 4,500 megawatts by 2027.

Impactful statistics included the following: 80+ sponsors and partners; 400+ companies attending; 175+ speakers and 70+ panels giving a total of 30 hours of talks. Over 20% of attendees comprise data center/collocation providers and REITs with half of those being C-level executives. Sponsors and partners included some of the biggest names from various industries such as Vertiv, Meta, Google, Microsoft, SM+, Schneider Electric, Mitsubishi, DayOne, Radisson, PDG, Gaw Capital, Brightray, NeutraDC Nxera, DC Byte, BW Digital, and Hydroleap, to name a few.

The event emphasized the importance of Batam’s potential in Southeast Asia, boosted by its proximity to Singapore and its low latency connectivity. At Interconnect World Forum Johor, Malaysia’s new challenges were discussed particularly on upcoming regulatory oversights as well as potential higher operational costs. Nevertheless, hopes were high that these challenges could be overcome with more dialogues between the relevant stakeholders.

Over in Singapore, the 2025 Sijori Cloud and Data Center Convention, W. Media’s flagship event, sparked some very lively and future-oriented discussions such as lifecycles of AI data centers and the Open Compute Project’s (OCP) role in uniting ecosystem players in the digital infrastructure stack as well as highlighting innovations in the industry. This aligned with Singapore’s role as a matured data center hub with world class connectivity and infrastructure.

The SIJORI Golf Cup and Sijori Football events fostered great teamwork and trust, and was a refreshing breather from the convention’s indoor environment. New friends were made despite the underlying competitive nature of the games. Naturally, the networking went into overdrive under the intense friendly competition.

More than 3,000 senior executives from over 10 countries have put their stamp of approval on the event and couldn’t wait to return next year.

The question now on everyone’s mind is:  What does Sijori Week 2026 offer? More of the same or better?
