Global provider of hyperscale data centers, Vantage Data Centers, which is backed by DigitalBridge Group Inc, is considering selling its assets in Malaysia which could potentially be valued at US$2 billion if successful, Bloomberg reported today quoting people with knowledge of the matter.
Vantage Data Centers is said to be discussing the sale with a financial adviser and talks are still ongoing. The hyperscaler developer might still walk away without any deals.
In November 2025, w.media reported that Vantage has completed its purchase of Yondr’s 300-megawatt data center in Johor which at the time was considered one the largest, if not the largest data center campus in Malaysia. The Johor campus, JHB1, spans nearly 73 acres and comprises three data centers with the first one operational while the remaining two are currently under development.
Vantage also owns the 31MW KUL1 data center in Cyberjaya and is building a second campus in an adjacent plot of land spanning 4.8 million square feet. When fully developed, it will deliver 436MW of capacity across six data centers.
Vantage’s data center footprint spans across 26 markets in five continents delivering 9GW of capacity, according to its website.
DigitalBridge itself is a target of acquisition by Japan’s SoftBank Group for about US$3 billion.
Vantage and DigitalBridge did not respond to requests for comment.
