Vantage Data Centers announced yesterday a US$ 2 billion investment to build a 192-megawatt data center campus in Virginia’s Fredericksburg region as part of the firm’s major expansion in the state.
In a press release, Vantage Data Centers stated that the new campus, named VA4, will span 82 acres in Stafford County and include three data centers totaling 929,000 square feet. Construction of the first building is expected to be completed in Q4 2027.
Dana Adams, president of Vantage Data Centers North America said, “We’re proud to help establish the region as a digital hub while contributing to its economic and technological growth.”
Darrell English, Hartwood District Supervisor, said, “Vantage Data Centers will create hundreds of jobs and strengthen Stafford’s position as a technology hub.”
The VA4 campus will be designed sustainably with LEED Silver certification and incorporate closed-loop chilled water systems to reduce water usage. The facility will use advanced liquid-to-liquid cooling technology capable of handling 100% of IT workloads, aligning with Vantage’s commitment to energy efficiency and low water usage effectiveness.
VA4 is Vantage’s fourth campus in Virginia, increasing total capacity to 782MW state wide and overall investment to US$ 8 billion. The Fredericksburg location was chosen to provide customers with access to Northern Virginia’s connectivity ecosystem.
