Vantage Data Centers has announced its debut in Taipei, Taiwan’s primary data center market, with plans to launch TPE1, a 16MW, 215,000 square foot (20,000 square meters) facility by mid-2024.
Positioned on a two-acre (one-hectare) site in the capital city, just a 35-minute drive from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, this new five-story data center aligns with the local government’s emphasis on sustainable energy.

Adhering to Vantage’s “sustainable by design” approach, the TPE1 campus is designed for energy-efficient operations, aiming to achieve industry-leading power usage effectiveness (PUE) and water usage effectiveness (WUE). The facility will be powered by Taiwan Power Company (Taipower), emphasizing their commitment to renewable energy and low-carbon, clean energy initiatives.
Taipei was chosen strategically due to its pivotal role as a hub supporting Taiwan’s digital transformation, robust connectivity ecosystem, and access to submarine cables.
According to Raymond Tong, President of Vantage Data Centers, APAC, Taipei serves as an ideal location to meet the escalating demand for data services in Asia, particularly with the growing use of advanced technologies such as AI.
This development in Taipei marks Vantage’s eighth campus in the Asia-Pacific region, emphasizing its continued expansion and commitment to serving customers across the region.
