The governments of the United Kingdom and Kuwait have come together to form a deal. This deal involves the UK assisting the Kuwait National Center for Cybersecurity.
In July, the head of the center, Major General Mohammad Bouaraki, shared that their main goal is to create a national “umbrella” responsible for keeping information networks, telecommunications, and information systems safe. They also aim to manage operations that involve collecting and exchanging information using electronic methods.
The agreement, which was signed by Bouaraki and Juliet Wilcox, the cybersecurity ambassador for UK Defence and Security Exports at the Department for International Trade, outlines how the UK will provide support. This support will help the center achieve its goals and equip it with the necessary tools to defend against threats. Additionally, the agreement involves coordinating efforts to respond to incidents.
This partnership would involve government agencies, the private sector, and leading cybersecurity companies. They plan to build relationships with cybersecurity vendors, improve capabilities, and enhance their ability to handle cybersecurity challenges.
