Thailand-based True Internet Data Center Co., Ltd. (True IDC), has broken ground on a 250 MW AI hyperscale data center to be built at a cost of 77 billion THB (US$ 2.36 billion) within the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). According to the company’s recent press release, the first phase of the Board of Investment (BOI)-approved project is scheduled to be operational by 2027.

The facility is fully modular enabling faster construction, seamless system deployment, and a quicker speed-to-market service delivery, coupled with sustainable energy management.

Thanasorn Jaidee, President of True IDC said, “As the leading data center and cloud service provider for 23 years, True IDC recognizes that organizations still require digital infrastructure that delivers speed. However, in today’s world, agility alone is not enough; it must be coupled with proactive security in every situation. We are committed to making this data center a vital engine in driving the Security Economy alongside the Digital Economy—creating technological independence, protecting critical national data, and ensuring that both public and private sector systems can operate without interruption.”

Thanasorn also noted that Krungsri Research (2026–2028) has indicated that revenue from digital services and software is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 6.8 per cent, driving the demand for advanced digital infrastructure in Thailand.

Headquartered in Bangkok, True IDC is a leading AI hyperscale data center and cloud service provider operating under Charoen Pokphand Group in a global partnership with GIP-BlackRock.
