Thomson, a French electronics manufacturer, has revealed its ambition to enter India’s laptop market. The company is actively working towards introducing its laptop lineup in India, and it is also considering the possibility of local manufacturing for these devices. This strategic maneuver is aimed at capitalizing on the escalating demand for notebooks in India and at establishing a more solid presence in the local electronics sector.
Thomson recognizes a valuable opportunity stemming from the government’s implementation of constraints on laptop imports. This situation has encouraged the company to contemplate launching its laptops in the Indian market, along with exploring the potential of domestic production. Much like its approach with TVs, Thomson, which partnered with SPPL to re-enter the Indian market in 2018, plans to adopt a similar online-only sales strategy through an e-commerce site t for its laptops. Notably, Thomson laptops are sold in France and other European nations.
