Indonesia’s telecom operator PT Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel), is working with financial advisers to sell its majority stake in NeutraDC seeking between US$$1 billion and US$1.5 billion, according to Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the matter. This would be the fourth time the utility attempted to sell its data center unit.

In 2022, the company held talks with potential investors to sell it at a valuation of more than US1 billion. When that didn’t succeed, the utility again tried to sell it in February 2024. Six months later, it was still seeking investors, this time with the help of Goldman Sachs and Mindiri Sekuritas.

In January, w.media reported that NeutraDC has partnered Japanese firm, Ishikari Renewable Energy Data Center No.1 to promote GPU-as-a-Service and develop cross-border digital infrastructure linking Singapore, Indonesia and Hokkaido, Japan.

According to its website, NeutraDC currently has 29 data centers out of which five are of global standard while three are Enterprise Data Centers with Tier 3 and 4 classifications, as well as a Hyperscale Data Center in Jakarta, Cikarang. Two are under construction in Batam and another location. In total, it has 19 edge data centers across Indonesia and Singapore. The company plans to build more hyperscale data centers.
