Telkom Indonesia (Telkom) and Indosat Tbk (Indosat) have announced a strategic alliance to strengthen Indonesia’s digital infrastructure through the creation of an interconnected Internet Exchange (IX) ecosystem. NeutraDC (Telkom’s data center unit) and BDx Indonesia (Indosat’s data center partner) will collaborate to empower their respective data center businesses.

The collaboration was formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NeutraDC and BDx Indonesia. The CEOs, Andreuw Th A F and Mayank Srivastava, expressed excitement about the initiative, aiming to elevate Indonesia’s digital infrastructure and create the most interconnected Digital Infrastructure Mesh for the country.
This joint effort responds to the increasing demand for data centers in Southeast Asia, driven by digital transformation and the growth of the e-commerce sector. The collaboration focuses on enhancing capabilities and colocation capacities, providing end-users with flexibility and a distributed security architecture.
Key features of the IX ecosystem include Tier 3 compliant, carrier-neutral locations in key Indonesian cities. NeutraDC and BDx Indonesia plan to host multiple independent IXs, fostering a robust interconnected IX ecosystem to improve the resilience and efficiency of the national internet framework.
