Telehouse International Corporation has selected the London Docklands area to develop its new Telehouse West Two facility. This £275 million (US$ 367 million) data center is scheduled for completion in 2028, and this expansion bolsters London’s status as a global hub for digital infrastructure.
In a press release, Telehouse revealed that the nine-storey, 32,000m² facility will deliver 33MW of total power capacity, including 11,292m² of white space dedicated to customer operations. Each floor will support up to 4.4MW of power, offering the scalability needed for emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and high-density computing.
Kenkichi Honda, Managing Director of Telehouse Europe, said, “This expansion will empower digital transformation for enterprise clients across multiple sectors, while supporting the need for energy efficiency and carbon neutrality.”
Telehouse West Two will combine air and liquid cooling technologies, offering flexible and efficient cooling solutions for customers. The design also prioritises sustainability, with BREEAM Excellent certification, fully powered by renewable energy, and HVO-fuelled backup generators. It will include heat recovery potential and deliver industry-leading efficiency with low Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) and Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE).Power for the site will be supplied by two new 132kV substations.
