A trio of tech giants, GoTo Group, Tencent Holdings, and Alibaba Cloud, have joined forces to accelerate Indonesia’s digital transformation. The partnership, announced during the Indonesia-China Business Forum, aims to bolster the nation’s cloud infrastructure and cultivate a skilled digital workforce.
Tencent Cloud is set to invest a substantial $500 million by 2030 to build a third Internet Data Center in Indonesia. This strategic move will provide local businesses with advanced cloud and AI solutions, empowering them to innovate and compete on a global scale.
Meanwhile, Alibaba Cloud, with its existing three data centers in Indonesia, is committed to nurturing digital talent. The company plans to train 800,000 individuals in cloud computing and AI by 2033. Alibaba Cloud will also establish a dedicated skills center at Universitas Indonesia to further solidify its commitment.
This partnership also reinforces the existing cloud service contracts between Tencent Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, and GoTo Group, ensuring that GoTo’s data remains securely within Indonesian borders.
Tencent Cloud and Alibaba Cloud will work closely with GoTo to enhance its digital platform and empower micro, small, and medium enterprises across Indonesia by leveraging their expertise in data analytics, AI, and cybersecurity.
