Last month, we reported that Tech Data, a Fortune 500 company, was set to acquire Innovix Distribution in a move to expand their presence across Asia Pacific. Now, Tech Data has completed the deal in an effort to strengthen its end-to-end solutions.
While the sale price was not disclosed, Innovix is now wholly owned by Tech Data, who intend to expand their business in key geographies, including Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore.
“With the Innovix acquisition now complete, we are excited to welcome 500-plus new colleagues to Tech Data as we combine our expertise and share our strengthened end-to-end portfolio across the Asia Pacific region,” said Jaideep Malhotra, the President for Asia Pacific at Tech Data.
The acquisition of Innovix is said to accelerate the growth of Tech Data as a leading solutions aggregator for next-generation technologies within the cloud and security space as well as endpoint offerings across Asia Pacific.
Headquartered in Hong Kong, Innovix is a 60-year veteran in IT distribution with an expansive range of IT services, including servers, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, racks, cloud backups, threat intelligence and business continuity.
“We are dedicated to growing our footprint globally, and this Asia Pacific investment reflects our commitment to transforming Tech Data into a company that defines a new standard of operational and cultural excellence in our industry,” said Mr. Malhotra.
Innovix has a network spanning 8,000 channel partners with leading brands like Cisco, Fortinet, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Huawei, Lenovo, Logitech, Microsoft, Pure Storage, Samsung, Toshiba, Veeam, and Vertiv.
In June 2020, Tech Data, one of the world’s largest technology distributors, was acquired by Apollo Global Management, a leading global alternative investment manager with offices in China, India, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore.
