Syntec Construction, a contractor listed on the SET, has formed a dedicated team to address the escalating demand for data center construction projects in Thailand, especially from major industry players.

CEO Somchai Sirilertpanich revealed that the company is shifting its focus this year towards securing bids for data center construction projects due to their heightened demand across the industry landscape.

Sirilertpanich elaborated that their expansion into data center construction comes on the heels of recruiting seasoned professionals with nearly two decades of expertise in this domain, encompassing comprehensive systems and methodologies.

Notably, the company has pursued a bid for a data center joint venture involving Gulf Energy Development, Singapore Telecommunications, and Advanced Info Service, slated for development in Samut Prakan.

In parallel, recent reports indicate Microsoft’s intentions to establish its inaugural data center in Thailand, projected to entail an investment of approximately US$1 billion, likely situated within the Eastern Economic Corridor.

Highlighting their recent accomplishments, Mr. Somchai mentioned Syntec’s successful completion of the Osprey Data Center within the Navanakorn Industrial Estate in Khlong Luang, Pathum Thani.

This facility, commissioned by OneAsia Data Center (Thailand), a Hong Kong-based investor, comprises two four-storey structures spanning approximately 20,000 square meters collectively, with a contract value totaling 455 million baht.
